Soudal acquires ACCUMETRIC of Kentucky (USA)

Important acquisition on the American continent

Soudal announces the acquisition of Accumetric LLC, an independent manufacturer of silicones, sealants and lubricants in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, USA. Accumetric has 150 employees globally and will have revenues of approximately $50 million (37 million EURO) in 2014.

Accumetric was founded more than 40 years ago and has acquired a strong market position in the USA, with affiliates in India and Thailand. The company has built a strong reputation through its widely recognized brands Boss®, Dynatex® and CPI®. Furthermore, Accumetric is very successful in exporting to Asia, resulting in strong growth the past few years.

It is Soudal’s intention to continue to develop the production plant in Elizabethtown, Kentucky with planned future investments in building and equipment of $21 million (15.5 million EURO).

Accumetric will continue to operate under its current name as a Soudal affiliate. The existing management remains at the helm of the company. As a family owned business, the Accumetric culture matches perfectly with Soudal, both companies being strongly focused on employees, customer satisfaction and growth.

This acquisition marks another step forward for Soudal’s overall plan to become a recognized supplier of adhesives and sealants to the America’s and to expand its presence in the South East Asian markets. The American headquarters of Soudal Inc. will move to Elizabethtown, KY.As a result, the turnover of Soudal will increase by more than 7%, which will bring the consolidated total sales to over $800 million (592 million EURO) in 2014. This acquisition confirms Soudal’s ambition to become a global leading player in sealants and adhesives.

Including the Accumetric production sites in Kentucky and Chennai (India), Soudal now has 15 factories worldwide and close to 2,000 employees.
